Happy news from Christopher Durang, whose "Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them" at New York's Public Theater is his funniest play in years. Along with other good things, it establishes Laura Benanti, already known in musicals ("Gypsy"), as an absolute star with this nonsinging role.
