With its juicy clash between a famous writer and her ambitious young protégé, <cite>Collected Stories</cite> can't help but raise a whiff of <cite>All About Eve</cite>. The Manhattan Theatre Club's splendid new production of the play at the Samuel Friedman also summons several other sighs of haven't-we-been-here-before.
