For choreographer Rob Ashford, it all began in Beckley, WV, when he joined the local outdoor musical drama, Hatfields and McCoys, as a teenager. He was hooked. Flash forward more than 20 years and Ashford has a Tony Award for Best Choreography for Thoroughly Modern Millie, and a Broadway revival of The Boys From Syracuse in the wings.
