Oedipus gets R&B twist in 'Gospel at Colonus'
In the middle of its season devoted to operatic investigation of stories from classical myth, Opera Theater arrives at "The Gospel at Colonus," a modern African-American re-telling of the ancient story of Oedipus. Now an old man, having expiated his sins of incest and patricide and become sacred to the gods, Oedipus arrives at Colonus to await his death.
