Curve Studio, Leicester: The Beauty Queen of Leenane (1996) is the third of Martin McDonagh's western Ireland trilogy to be performed at Curve, after The Pillowman and The Lieutenant of Inishmore, both also directed by Paul Kerryson. It is a beautiful piece, with some of the writing echoing the work of Edmund Synge and Sean O'Casey, although lacking at times their rapier assurance. Read the full review
