Not enchanted, but nice
Lincoln Center's reboot of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific has at least one thing in common with Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's version: its Emile de Becque. William Michals understudied Paulo Szot on Broadway as the French planter and suitor to cockeyed optimist Ensign Nellie Forbush (Marnie Schulenburg), logging significant stage time in the role.
