Review: Memorable music can't save 'Heart of Darkness'
Tarik O'Regan's score is often terrific, and well-sung, but the opera adapted from Joseph Conrad's famed novella lacks dramatic punch. The work is getting its U.S. premiere by Opera Parallele and plays at Z Space in San Francisco May 2-3.
