It was announced Aug. 5 that newcomer Shanice Williams would step into Dorothy's silver slippers in the upcoming NBC broadcast of The Wiz, joining the original Broadway star Stephanie Mills, Queen Latifah, David Alan Grier and Mary J. Blige.
