BWW Polls: In Cases Where There is Community Objection to the Content of a Show, Such as ROCKY HORROR in Georgia, What Action Should Be Taken?
As BroadwayWorld reported earlier, A Georgia production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, playing at Atlanta's Plaza Theatre was shut down by local political leaders for being overly offensive and too risque. After the town's mayor was shown a video of the show in rehearsal, officials decided that an R-rated farce was not suitable for a city-owned venue, and the production was stopped.
