Andean music reaching new heights with 22-member band
Andean music may often be identified with small, poncho-wearing bands playing pan flutes. But Peru's Serenata de los Andes is taking the genre to the next level. Like a passing condor on steroids, this 22-member orchestra will boast its big-band sound Nov. 10 at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
