Octagon, Bolton: We are now so used to seeing Shakespeare's tragedies reinvented and transplanted to alternative historical settings that we've become rather inured to the tactic. So the Octagon's creative team deserve great praise for resisting the temptation to contemporise the Bard's Scottish play, concentrating instead on maximising its impact as a gothic shocker.
