Tragedy and mystery in a mining town by Terry Byrne, Globe Correspondent

STONEHAM — Lanford Wilson’s “The Rimers of Eldritch’’ is a symphony, full of both harmony and complexity. In the Stoneham Theatre’s current production, a 17-member acting ensemble provides beautiful harmony, but director Weylin Symes’s staging only occasionally mines the complexity in this tale of sad souls trapped in a dead-end town.
