The Dumb Waiter and The Lover, Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh by Thom Dibdin

Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh: Tensely comic, the European Arts Company production of this Pinter double bill sets off with a Dumb Waiter that intrigues but doesn't disturb. Nicholas Gasson is a homely, pernickety Gus and John O'Connor an uptight, snarling Ben, going through his paces. But under Jonathan Kemp's direction this lacks edge and menace. Read the full review
