My Brief Encounter with Doris Day
It was the briefest of encounters, via phone, with Doris Day but there I was recently in a bookstore in New Haven huddled over a speaker-phone talking to the actress-singer. Day was calling in as a favor to her friend Pierre Patrick of New Haven, who was having a book signing with illustrator and fashion consultant David Wolfe of Norwalk for their new book, "Doris Day Paper Dolls Featuring 24 Fashions from Her Film."…
