Karamu Theatre's 'A Star Ain't Nothin' But a Hole in Heaven' roars with emotion by Andrea Simakis

The ocean of opportunity that was opened to girls like Pokie by the civil rights movement threatened to swamp the world of her elders, who prized family and filial duty above all else, and playwright Judi Ann Mason mines this painful conflict for all it's worth. So do director Terrence Spivey and his actors in "A Star Ain't Nothin' But a Hole in Heaven."
