Stephen Sondheim and Meryl Streep Will Receive Presidential Medal of Freedom by Michael Gioia

Stephen Sondheim, the legendary songwriter of Into the Woods, and Meryl Streep, the star of the upcoming film adaptation of that musical, are among the 19 individuals chosen by President Barack Obama to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the White House announced Nov. 10.
