Wary of Demanding Lead Role, 'Spider-Man' Producers Eye Use of Backup by PATRICK HEALY

The producers of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" are planning to tap cast member Matthew James Thomas to serve as an alternate for leading man Reeve Carney for as many as two performances a week.
