In playing Ellida, the mysterious heroine of Ibsen's 1889 drama, she takes on a role already made famous by her mother and late sister. She acquits herself honourably and gets steadily more impressive as the evening continues; yet she, and her director Stephen Unwin, could go still further in exploring Ellida's borderline insanity and amphibious depths…
